Bike and Blender

Would you believe that a bicycle could actually create a smoothie?

Well if you were down at the Underwater Picnic you would have seen this in action! Check out the photo!

So the action of peddling on the bike feeds your physical body (and surely your spirit as well!) and then the smoothie itself is full of good kai too so you win all round! Jonah and Dhyana are behind these creations  and if  you’re keen you will be able to take part in a workshop in Taranaki as part of the SCANZ residency happening next year in January where you can see this bike and blender in action again. And they don’t just do blenders with bikes, they do all sorts of things!

Another highlight for me was the music! There is nothing like listening to some old school sounds; a bit of Herbs, a bit of Michael Jackson and a bit of new stuff as well and might I add all sung to the strum of a guitar!! Gee – we’re talented aye:) There were a few people grooving in the crowd today – so definitely a crowd puller!

And how about that – bumped into Harry Duynhoven and managed to get a couple of minutes kōrero from him about sustainability. The new Mayor certainly has his work cut out for him! If there is going to be any sustainable Taranaki into the future there is a lot to work on. Hopefully this What if? exhibition will be a part of making that happen. We have so much to be grateful for in Taranaki and we need to take care of what we have for future generations.

So that’s my two cents for today. If you are in Taranaki and wanting to share your story on camera please email me greentaranaki@gmail.com or call 027 207 4871 Would love to hear from you. I am here for at least another week! But I’ll be back in January as well.
